April 13th and 14th marked the start of a new year in many regions of India. Given the current state of the world, wasn’t feeling in a celebratory mood. So here are pictures and recipes of dishes that are traditionally made in many households in Tamil Nadu on this occasion, things that I had posted earlier.

The first is a sweet, salty, tangy, bitter, sour, and spicy mango curry tempered with neem leaves called Manga Pachdi and you can find the recipe here.

The second one is a simple, refreshing, hearty salad made of yellow moong (mung) dal and other fresh vegetables called Pasi Paruppu Kosumalli and you can find the recipe here
